History of top 8 Airplane crashes

Accidents have always been horrible either it is a bike accident, a car's, or an airplane accident. The faster the vehicle is, the more disastrous the accident can be. The latest cars and airplanes have proved the improvement in science by fast-moving vehicles which have lessened distance across the world. The airplane is the mode of transport between countries. Daily hundreds and thousands of flights take passengers from one country to another. Flights are also between cities in the same country. Airplanes fly at a very fast speed as compared to cars and bikes or any other vehicle. Accidents happen less often in airplanes but yes they do happen and have disastrous effects. Many passengers die and the plane in most cases is totally destroyed.

Let's talk about a few such unhappy accidents. Since 2000, there has been a really fast advent in the field of transport. More planes with greater speed and comfort have been introduced by many airline manufacturers. These huge airplanes are proofs of development in fields of science and technology. But where there are advantages, some disadvantages are always there which have to be faced.

Since 2000, there have been 8 aircraft accidents which include both commercial plane accidents and air force crashes. All these incidents were heart-wrenching as many lives were lost.

Top 8 Airplane Crashes

PAF F-27 crash:

1- On 20th February 2003, Pakistan Air Force F-27 aircraft with 17 people on board flew from Kohat Air Base but unfortunately due to fog it crashed somewhere in between the mountains. All the passengers died and this really was heart-wrenching.

2- Later on 10th July 2006, an F-27 airplane that was traveling from Multan to Lahore with 45 passengers and 4 crew members crashed just after some time of flight. The plane had some engine problems due to which it crashed into an electricity tower and took the lives of all 49 people aboard.

AIR BUS A321 CRASH:

3- Improvement in technology resulted in an increase in the number of passengers, this was helpful as more people could be taken from one place to another at a time but on the other hand nobody thought that plane crashes can result in the death of more people as compared to earlier crashes. A similar incident happened on the 28th of July 2010, when 152 passengers met death during a crash of Air blue Airbus A321. This incident left everyone in a shock as many lives just got lost in just a couple of minutes.

JS Air Beechcraft 1900C crash:

4- After a few months on 5th November 2010, JS Air Beechcraft 1900C crashes in Pakistan with 21 passengers on board. None of the passengers could be saved!!! Life started to seem so unexpected.

The Ilyushin IL-76 freighter crash:

5- November 2010 proved to be very disastrous and painful for people of Pakistan as another plane crashed; The Ilyushin IL-76 freighter flew from Karachi, Pakistan, to Khartoum, Sudan, carrying 8 crew members and 31 tons of relief supplies for Sudan. The plane crashed into a building and all the 8 passengers on board were marked dead.

Bhoja Air Boeing 737 crash:

6- 20th April 2012 was a black day with 127 deaths in a Bhoja Air Boeing 737 which was taking passengers from Karachi to Islamabad but unfortunately due to bad weather in Islamabad it fell in a residential area near Islamabad. About 50 houses were destroyed but nobody died on the ground but none of the passengers could be saved, unfortunately.

PIA ATR 42:

7- Pakistan International Airlines ATR 42 with 48 passengers crashed in the Margalla Hills Islamabad. Famous religious figure Junaid Jamshaid was also aboard. All the passengers sadly died.

8- The Most recent Crash was on 22nd May 2020, with 99 passengers on board. More heartbreaking news was that this plane crashed just 60 seconds before landing. They were so close to their destination but crashed in a residential area. 97 were dead, 2 were saved and 4 from the ground were burnt which were taken to the hospital immediately. Life is so uncertain.

These are just the major airplane crashes that happened in the history of Pakistan. The world has much more to tell us about many other airplane crashes
