What is e-learning? Its all types, Advantages and disadvantages of elearning
All that you need to know about E-learning!
What is E-learning?
Ever wondered that you make
use of computers and other forms of the internet for learning and
teaching? So what is the process exactly
called? Well, it is known as E-learning. The system is highly advanced in
technology that aims to benefit a larger number of people via education
simultaneously.
Elearning Advantages:
These days, E-learning has
taken over the traditional approach of learning. Corporate sectors have
announced this learning to be the best one. It is because professionals are
easily trained no matter where in the world they are present, employees get
easy access to training sessions while sitting in a board room. Although one
must not forget the significance of non-electronic teaching but the benefits
gained through electronic teaching cannot be ignored. There are different types
of learners in the world and it is a scientific fact that human beings are best
able to memorize those things that they see. So, why not make the most of it
for people’s benefits.
Types of e-learning:
Various types of e-learning are as
follows:
- Computer management learning
- Computer-assisted instruction
- Synchronous online learning
- Asynchronous online learning
- Fixed e-learning
- Adaptive e-learning
- Linear e-learning
- Interactive online learning
- Individual online learning
- Collaborative online learning
All these types are way beyond
the deep understanding of people which is why two simple terms are used by
scientists that is computer bases e-learning and internet-based
e-learning.
Pros and cons of e-learning
Everything in this world has
two aspects, positive and negative. Similar is the case with e-learning.
Advantages:
The merits it holds are as
follows:
- Various formats are used to link resources
- The course is efficiently delivered online
- Resources are available at any time because of
the convenience and flexibility of this platform
- Part-time or full time working students can have
easy learning through web
- Active and independent learning is promoted
through it
- Any time of the training that suits you can be
accessed with the help of 24/ 7 internet availability
- The platform allows you to stay connected to
different people from across the globe and clear your queries
- You can always rewind the video instructions
and tutorials to have a clear and better understanding
Disadvantages:
The demerits provided are as
follows:
- A limitation to questions is seen when they
are objective
- Online learning programs lack tight security
- The work of students may not be authentic. It
means the student may have asked anybody else to do his task on his
behalf. How is one supposed to learn and enhance their knowledge like
that?
- The assessments suggested by computer are only based on knowledge. They are not based on practicality which may not
create an effective learning
In the nutshell!
Other than that, the platform
is taking lead with its excessive and continuous use thus providing people with
more benefits. Consider learning a normal part of working and for better
exposure, you can let non-electronic and electronic learning go hand in hand in
your life.
